Markovic Estates 2012(750ML)

This was a very pleasant surprise. Often Pinot Noir from non typical Pinot producing ares is grainy, acidic and not very interesting. These guys have managed to produce a Pinot that has some "New World" upfront fruitiness, as well as some "Old World" structure and character. The color is dark for Pinot. The nose has some briary plum that indicates some excitement to follow. There is a solid core of cherry, blueberry and plum fruit with nice viscosity. Some secondary flavors like cocoa, light molasses and graphite. Really friendly and tasty.
